Strong winds blew a portion of my backyard fence down leaving me no choice but to take a dive into a Do it Yourself project. So here where it all began, the journey to self fulfillment.
I may not even gone through all my projects if I didn't have somewhere to start and I guess nature decided to give me a projet and I started mine back then.

The wind that night was very strong that I had to wake up in the middle of the night to howling trees and threatening wind sounds. It all reminded me of typhoons back on Guam during typhoon Omar and Paka. Those were scary moments with very high winds. The night went on and I finally went back to bed.
The next morning while getting coffee from the kitchen, I was shocked to see that I can look straight into my neighbor's backyard. The wind had blown two parts of the fence down. This is when it dawned on me that it's time to man up and do some DIY projects.
Without hesitations, I grabbed my wallet and keys and headed straight to my newly founded favorite window shopping store, LOWE'S.
I have no clue why, but I shopped and walked inside Home Depot all the time but not once did I ever consider stopping in or shopping at Lowes. It's only after I became a homeowner that I finally had to shop there too. I guess it's for compare and contrast reasons. You have to have two things to judge if one is better than the other, right?
At lowes, I headed straight for the lumber section and because of my window shopping experiences I knew exactly where to go and why I should come to Lowes instead of stopping in at Home Depot. At least to my own understanding Lowes at this time has cheaper and better products.
Gathered all that's needed and headed back home where my son in law was anxiously waiting. We both put on our safety hats and glasses and got to work. It took us several hours but this one was in the books, completed. Our very first DIY project is done!
Reviewing our work I found that we put the panels upside down. But looking at the shark teeth shapes of our final work, I concluded that we did the right thing since the shark teeth shapes are more pleasing and gives a great aesthetical view insteat of just some plane flat top. Whether there was other reasons beside easily drive the wood into the ground, the option we picked is more pleasing and fun to look at.
